Casa Modesta is an architectural boutique hotel in the Ria Formosa Nature Park of the Algarve, just east of Olhao. Surrounded by orchards and green lands, the hotel worked with local studio PAr to reimagine a whitewashed family house from the 1940s. The new design is a sleek contemporary take on local vernacular architecture, with a heavy emphasis on clean lines.
Casa Modesta now offers 9 light-filled guest suites. Echoing its facade, they are all designed with a minimalistic white design, highlighted by LACECAL cedar furniture, traditional terracotta tiles, brass touches, and curated objects. They each come with a private patio or terrace as well.
In addition, Casa Modesta features an outdoor swimming pool, a vegetable garden, and a communal kitchen. During your stay, make sure you also check out the breathtaking coastal lagoons at Ria Formosa, which is regarded as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of Portugal’.
